Brittany M: Using Fertility Awareness to achieve and avoid pregnancy

This story was submitted to Kindara by Brittany M.

I started using Kindara to track my fertility after coming off the pill. I'd been on birth control for about 5 years and was nervous about what would happen to my body when I came off. I was so pleased to learn about the options for monitoring my fertility and loved learning about what my body was doing as I tracked with the Kindara app. My husband and I avoided pregnancy for the first 6 months or so, and were successful with the help of tracking via Kindara.

When we decided we wanted to get pregnant, it only took two cycles to achieve pregnancy and I knew exactly when I conceived. I calculated my own due date, but unfortunately my doctor did not put a lot of stock in my calculations and induced me a week after the traditionally-calculated due date, even though it was just 2 days after my actual due date. Nevertheless, we are delighted with our little boy who will be one in a few months. Once my hormones are back to normal, I'm planning to use Kindara again to track my fertility until we're ready for our second little one!
