Dear Kindara,

I have been using your iphone app (thank you!) but I have been tracking the same temp – 36.5c for 5 days now. I take my temp at the same time everyday. Is this normal?

Mrs. ADW,

Congratulations on beginning your fertility charting journey … and thank YOU for using our app. We love that you’re using and enjoying it!

The most likely explanation is that your thermometer is not sensitive enough. Since you’re measuring in Celsius, a thermometer that measures to one decimal point is actually not accurate enough to measure your basal body temperature (BBT) for fertility charting. When charting in Celsius, using a thermometer that measures to two decimal places is crucial. The small fluctuations in your BBT are probably not being picked up by the thermometer you’re using. We recommend picking up a new BBT thermometer, which will hopefully show the slight changes in your BBT. If you have additional questions throughout the process, we’d love to hear from you. We wish you the best of luck charting your fertility!

(Want a highly accurate thermometer that's fast, comfortable in your mouth, and doesn't beep? Try Wink, a bluetooth basal thermometer that automatically syncs your temperatures and the time your temperature was taken to the Kindara app).
